Summer Camp

A Summer Camp spanning seven days for youth ages 13-18 or leadership interns ages 19-25. Participants will be picked up at the Kelowna Airport or accommodation in Kelowna (Monashee Adventure Tours) or Vernon (Winds & Rivers) and shuttled to Canadec outside of Salmon Arm where participants will take part in Learning Modules that include:

Ecology/Environment/Agriculture activities (gardening, building trails, wetlands restoration, sheep dairy and wool weaving workshops);

Community Activities (Art and theatre, making music, playing and writing, dialogue on peace, cooking meals);

Recreational Activities (Hiking and kayaking, challenge high ropes course, fishing, bicycling)

English as a Second Language programming; Media/public relations (Adding to international website, writing and photography, interviewing, debating).

Participants bring: Sleeping bags and pillows; Comfortable clothing (that you don't mind getting dirty); Swimsuit; Running shoes; Toiletries; Sunhat and sunscreen; Cameras, flashlights (optional); Small back pack; Musical instruments (optional).

Camp Capacity: Up to 50 camp participants and 10 intern leaders.

Accommodations: participants will be housed in Tent Cabins and tepees, and billeted with Turtle Valley residents.

Meals: Prepared by the groups and will include vegetarian options.
