Monashee Snowshoe Adventure
A Weekend Getaway to a Winter Wonderland
Explore the Canadian wilderness in an enchanted natural world of snow in the Monashee which means the Mountains of Peace. You will snowshoe through interior rainforests and past heritage log cabins covered in a blanket of snow, walk or skate on a frozen lake and roast marshmallows over an open fire under a canopy of icicles and stars. Spend a night in a Canadian Chalet and sip mulled wine during an evening of storytelling. You will have a chance to visit artists at work and view fantastic winter landscape along with a morning of fun and excitement snow tubing down the side of a forested meadow and searching for animal tracks in the snow.
Activities:
Day 1 Pickup 10am in Kelowna Shuttle along the scenic route to Lumby Heritage Village for lunch at the Blue Ox Pub Arrive at Cozy Cabins at 1pm Introduction to snowshoeing and different styles of snowshoes Snowshoe past heritage log cabins, a frozen lake and through a forest Bring your skates for a skate on a frozen lake Roast marshmallows on an open fire along the way Steak and bun dinner with a vegetarian option and mulled wine Overnight in a Winter Chalet.
Day 2 After a home baked cinnamon bun and coffee depart on the shuttle around Coyote Sleeping, past Echo Lake in Creighton Valley to the Cherryville Artisans Shop for a visit; then along the Shuswap River to the Coyote Creek ArtVillage for a Studio Tour and an hour of downhill tubing and chocolate fondue Back to Lumby for a late lunch at the Blue Ox Departure to Kelowna with arrival before 4pm.
Meals: Lunch and Dinner are included in Day 1. Breakfast, Lunch and a Fondu snack are included on Day 2.
