Open Sky Paraglide Flight & Backcountry Adventure
2 Days - Sky, Water, Spirit and the Nectar of the Gods
Explore the skies by Paragliding and experience a full day of open sky and the rush of the wind as you soar over one of the most spectacular landscapes in North America. High above Coopers Ridge to the east you will view the snowcapped Monashees rising above ancient volcanic masses covered with forest and to the west the desert grasslands of the Okanagan Valley. You will be shuttled to a Rendezvous Camp in the forest where you will have dinner cooked on an open fire before you depart on a night time sensory hike to a mountain vista for stargazing then back to camp for a night in a tipi. The next day you will be canoeing in the warm waters of Okanagan Lake on a quest for Ogopogo finishing your adventure on the patio of Gray Monk Winery sampling the nectar of the Gods!
Activities:
Day 1 - A full day of paragliding high above the White Valley and Coldstream Valley on the edge of the North Okanagan, then overnight in a Tipi Camp, and a full day of canoeing. Pickup in Vernon at 8am at your accommodation Winds & Rivers shuttle to Coopers Ridge above Lumby Heritage Village. Basic instruction in Paragliding by licensed professionals from Paraglide Canada with a full instructional day and a possible solo flight if good weather conditions prevail. Flights overlook the Okanagan Valley, Shuswap and the Monashee mountain range Shuttle to Lumby for dinner then to Coyote Creek Art Village for a studio tour, entertainment and overnight in a Tipi with a night time sensory hike to a mountain ridge for stargazing and back to camp for storytelling.
Day 2 A pancake breakfast then departure with Winds & Rivers for a scenic Canoe trip on Okanagan Lake to Gray Monk Winery Patio Lunch Tour of the Allan Brooks Nature Centre - shuttle back to your accommodation in Vernon.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner and Snacks are included for Day 1 with a Pancake Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks included on Day 2.
